Young Choi opened Asahi with his wife Helen in 2000. He
has over 20 years experience in the food business.
Above the entrance to the Japanese Korean Cuisine
restaurant is a mountain landscape carved from wood. The
landscape, as well as the entire decor of the restaurant
is the work of the owner Choi, who is just as talented
in art as he is serving up fine cuisine!
Choi designed the entire room, a graceful composition,
in the classic Japanese style of blonde wood, ebony
lacquer, rice paper and all the right angles.
Some of his brush work and pottery can be found
throughout the restaurant, such as this beautiful bowl
to the right.
